Challenge Four - Making St Brigid's Cross
Our challenge for this week just happens to coincide with Catholic Schools Week. This week and at this time in particular, we recognise the many difficulties that confront us every day. Now more than ever, we support each other through our thoughts, words and actions.
On Monday 1st February, we celebrate the feast day of one of our most famous Irish saints - St. Brigid. So what better way to get the family and community together than to partake in the very old Irish tradition of making St. Brigid's crosses! Watch the videos of some of our local grannies and grandads teaching us how to make a cross or you can watch the Youtube clip to see the procedure more closely. If you have no rushes, use strips of card or pipe cleaners or watch the video on how to draw a cross.
So let's reach out to all the members of our community. This week we want you to send in your pictures or videos of you alone or with your family making or holding your creations. Let's have some fun this weekend and celebrate St. Brigid at the same time.
